Late-Term Abortionist George Tiller Shot at Church Yesterday
Late-Term abortionist George Tiller was shot and killed in church yesterday morning. Tiller was one of a very few in the country who performed late-term abortions. He ran one of three clinics in the nation that aborted babies after the 22nd week.
A suspect is in custody and I'm sure we will learn more about him and his possible motives throughout the day today.
I and Faith and Freedom denounce this kind of murderous action. While our country is deeply divided on several social issues, abortion being one of them, violence is not acceptable under any circumstances.
We stand firmly against all abortion and work through proper, legal and peaceful means to reverse laws and practices that advance abortions, however, any violent act against another, regardless of their belief is unacceptable.
We pray for his family that they will find comfort and peace from Jesus Christ, the Prince of Peace and Son of God.
I would also pray that abortionist activists do not try to capitalize on this tragedy and silence anti-abortion views, particularly during the hearings on Sonia Sotomayor for the Supreme Court.
Reverend Patrick Mahony, a strong pro-life advocate said, "I'd hope they wouldn't try to broad-brush the entire pro-life movement as some sort of extremist movement because of what happened in Wichita. That's really important---don't use this personal loss for political gain."
May God help us.

Gary,
For the first time ever, I agree with you.
Reverend Mahony must be incredibly naive. Of course they will broad brush pro-lifers. Of course they will attempt to use this for political gain. Of course they will use this to attempt to silence the pro-life voice.
We battle the relentless onslaught of deception and lies on all fronts.
Luke 11:34
The light of the body is the eye:
therefore when thine eye is single, thy whole body also is full of light; but when thine eye
is evil, thy body also is full of
darkness.
Acts 26:13-18
At midday, O king, I saw in the way a light from heaven, above the brightness of the sun, shining
round about me and them that journeyed with me.
And when we were fallen to the earth, I heard a voice speaking unto me, and saying in the Hebrew
tongue, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks.
And I said, Who art thou, Lord? And he said, I am Jesus whom thou
persecutest.
But rise, and stand upon thy feet:
for I have appeared unto thee for
this purpose, to make thee a minister and a witness both of these things which thou hast seen,
and of those things in the which I will appear unto thee;
Delivering thee from the people, and from the Gentiles, unto whom
now I send thee,
To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness
of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith
that is in me.
So in his last post, Gary sought political gain by smearing all LGBT people over Miss California's difficulties and in this post he tries to preempt anyone from gaining political advantage over the politically motivated assassination of a Doctor in his Church. I believe that is called Situational Ethics, which I thought conservatives were supposed to oppose rather than employ.
Then again we did have cries of "domestic terrorism" back in December when a gay rights group non-violently disrupted a Church services, whereas murdering a political opponent during a Church service is now a "personal tragedy".
Does anyone have any doubt that, had it been a "pro-life" activist murdered in his Church we wouldn't be hearing these pleas from Gary to not use the situation to gain political advantage?
Shot in church , that is so sad .
Mick
I am glad that F & F has condemned this act of murder. The pro life rhetoric contributed to
this act. Ministers have to be careful that when they talk about abortion from their pulpits that they make it clear that abortions have to be stopped legally and that they don't
LIGHT THE FIRE , STIR THE POT AND SET BACK AND WATCH IT BAIL.
So many there may be that seek to
promote the gay agenda it seems, that thought evil of Miss California and may still do. Yet
how many who are pro-life do we
see that would seek to justify the murder of one who was not so
inclined to agree with them? Not many, and yet if they did they would be in a great darkness. It was a horrible tragedy and not just because it happened in a church. One life was
taken from this earth in a way we never want to see, to appear before God, and another will either have to wait trial and live out the consequences of the action, or
simply live with what he has done
if indeed he escapes the earthly
legal system, to restore his relationship with God if he still has the means of coming to the cross, which is given by the grace of God only to those who will inherit eternal life, for sin can never be justified. It's better for a man to be apprehended
for a fault than to escape sometimes.
I heard there might be civil action against Bill O'Reilly and Fox news. It will be interesting to see how that plays out.
If you look back on their coverage of this man, this act of terrorism is no surprise.
btw - this is exactly what Napolitano was talking about in that report that angered the right wing so much. Looks like she nailed it. That's a nice change from the last administration.
" heard there might be civil action against Bill O'Reilly and Fox news. It will be interesting to see how that plays out."
It will be great for FOX news ratings . I watch Fox , CNN , CNBC PBS , etc . Interesting sometimes not only the news but how it is presented . Then how politicians react to the way the news is presented instead of the actual news . But a lawsuit against Fox is like having a lawsuit filed against Howard Zinn for putting America in such a bad light it caused 9/11 . Just politcal gotchas .
Best thing for the man's family I would think would be to move on .
But thats my bias opinion .
Mick
A civil action by the family might just be the best way to expose the world to the truth about this man vs the fiction painted by right wing extremists.
And if Fox and Bill are found liable, that would be a bonus for the world, not just the family.
FREE SPEECH IS NOT FREE!
There is also responsibility.
Recognizing the effects of
free speech rhetoric.
The 911 terrorists were acting on extreme Islamic
rhetoric when they flew the planes into the WTCs.
They believed that they were doing God,s (Allah's) will. The guy that killed Tiller believed the same that
he was doing God"s will.
