Faith and Freedom Network: Marriage Mocked in Cities Around the World, but Schwarzenegger Gets the Bouquet

Marriage Mocked in Cities Around the World, but Schwarzenegger Gets the Bouquet

A lesbian motorcycle group dressed in wedding gowns and wearing bridal veils tossed bouquets as they led San Francisco's annual gay pride parade yesterday.

The "Dykes On Bikes" group also carried signs that read "Just Married".

San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom and New York Governor David Patterson were hailed as heroes, while a guy named Jim Saslow carried a bouquet and wore a wedding gown stamped with the words "coming here soon".

Homosexuals acted out from San Francisco to Calcutta and New Delhi, across Europe and even Jerusalem a couple of weeks ago.

But it was California Governor Schwarzenegger who caught the bouquet with his comments on NBC's Meet The Press yesterday.

Schwarzenegger called the effort to reverse the recent court decision to allow gay marriage, "A waste of time." (Read Article).

The right of citizens to, for the second time, express their view on so-called "gay marriage" is a waste of time? Particularly after the citizens have already spoken loudly in support of marriage as between one man and one woman? And, oh yes, those million plus "extremists" who signed and circulated the petitions also wasted their time?

It gets worse. He went on to say, "I personally believe that marriage should be between a man and a woman, but at the same time I think that my, you know, belief, I don't want to force on anyone else."

First of all, Governor, it isn't about your belief, it's about the will of the voters and they have already expressed their will at the ballot box. And are being forced to do so again due to judicial activists.

Secondly, it's not about us forcing our belief on them, rather a small minority demanding that society accommodate their chosen lifestyle and enshrine their sexual activities into law, forcing their beliefs on the majority of American citizens. And re-engineering marriage and family in the process.

The line, "Don't force your beliefs on me" is as old as the homosexual activist movement itself. The truth? They are trying to force their beliefs on the rest of us, demanding that society change to facilitate them.

Good grief.

Governor, please, don't be afraid to take a stand on something. Even your left wing inlaws, the Kennedys, take positions on things.

The Governor's message that he is on everyone's side may well result in no one believing him.

Enjoy the flowers.

I doubt that when Jesus returns, gay marriage will high on his priority list. Instead I think he'll ask what we did as a society to feed the hungry, to heal the sick, and generally take care of our brothers and sisters.

Homosexuality and other behavior based acts are not entitled to civil right status.

Civil rights are for things you can not control such as age, race and gender. Oh and by the way gender is what you were born with not what you FEEL you should be, which is an illusion. Even the Gay and Lesbian community acknowledges there is no such thing as a biological cause for homosexual behavior, contrary to what the news media would have you believe.

If we enshrine into law special status based on homosexual, transsexual and whatever other sexual behavior that is out there then we open a door that should never have been open. Next we will have men and women marrying animals or objects and demanding marital status for those.

Soon we will have to eliminate laws protecting our children from pedophiles since that is a sexual action that they will want to protect just like homosexuality among adults. And if you think that isn’t their goal then you have not looked into such groups like NAMBLA. And if you wonder why I know this; consider what Sun Tzu said “Know your enemy”.

Do not think for one second this means harming anyone, this is an intellectual exercise not a battle field. I have “political enemies” and I have lively discussions with them all the time and we walk away still friends when it’s over. The driving idea here is know what their thoughts, beliefs, goals and directions are. Once you know what those are then you can work to deny them victory and achieve it for yourself.

Jesus commands us as Christians to love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us. He never said we could not resist and allow changes we knew to be wrong.

As much as you'd like this to be, it's not about you, Gary. Or your beliefs.

No one is forcing you to live by anyone else's value system. As gays are allowed to participate equally in marriage in this country and around the world, you will not be forced to marry a member of the same-sex. Or even approve of it. Or even condone it. Your church can chose not to support it.

Just as you are not forced to divorce, or approve of others' divorces. Or marry a member of a different race, or approve of their marriages. Or work on Sundays just because I do. Or whatever.

You can continue to live by your value system as you see fit. You can freely make your choices even if I don't agree with them.

However, you should not use your value system to tell me that out of everyone I can love, I can marry none of them, when you yourself have the right to marry someone you can love. It is not OK to have a right yourself and deny it to me.

Remember, our chosen religious lifestyles are protected by law. And our inherent sexual orientations are now, too, at least in California. I gain nothing that you don't already have.

I might not approve of your chosen Christian lifestyle, but should I be allowed to vote it away from you? I don't think so. And that's where you and I differ.

MIAMI, June 26 (UPI) -- A Washington woman said she filed a federal lawsuit accusing a Miami hospital of "anti-gay animus" after workers refused to let her see her dying partner.

Janice Langbehn and her partner Lisa Marie Pond, both aged 39, intended to enjoy a vacation cruise with three of their four children, marking the women's 18 years as a couple in February 2007, the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reported Thursday.

The trip abruptly ended when Pond had a massive stroke as the ship was preparing to leave port, the newspaper said.

She was taken to Miami's Jackson Memorial Hospital, where Langbehn said workers would not let her see her ailing partner.

A social worker allegedly said the couple was in an "anti-gay city and state."

Pond died about 18 hours after she arrived at Jackson's Ryder Trauma Center.

Langbehn said she was permitted to see Pond for no more than about five minutes.

The suit, lodged in U.S. District Court in Miami, seeks at least $75,000 and accuses physicians Alois Zauner and Carlos Alberto Cruz and social worker Garnett Frederick of negligence and "intentional infliction of emotional distress."*************************

*************************

18 years together and a citizen is denied basic human compassion and courtesy in a time of emotional distress.

There should a national registration of same sex couples so they can get the same legal protection
as heterosexuals.

I find it odd that certain people find it their life mission to attack other human beings whose baviour they despise.

Too bad they won't spend time attacking the behavior of corporate and government creed and corruption - the military-industrial complex that Republican President Dwight Eisenhower warned America about - and now is fully functional and increasingly powerful - because we are focused on certain sexual behaviors.

Too bad - so much other evil that is simply ignored by these people.

The gay thing gets old also , there are other things to discuss in this state and to be made aware of . Here is the current draft of the Washington State Democrat Party's platform. The draft calls for a federal “cabinet-level Department of Peace and Nonviolence”. Other highlights include support for gay marriage, right to die, Geneva convention rights for terrorist detainees, more public housing, opposition to “excessive” corporate profits, abandon the WASL, oppose charter schools & vouchers, oppose teacher pay for performance, reinstate the fairness doctrine, support voting rights for felons, health care as a basic human right, single payer national health care, abolition of capital punishment, elimination of “three strikes” laws, elimination of ballistic missile defense systems, and support for ways to get you out of your car.

Tony, have you heard of sodom and ghomorah? That is what will happen to our nation--a collapse from within, allowing un-godliness, such as perversions and homosexual behaviours! Believe it! Thus, the reason for our passion to stay within God's basic principles! Someday you will understand--someday everyone will!

"Civil rights are for things you cannot control ..."

Randy, perhaps you are then for removing from civil rights protections based on religion, marital status, and veteran status, among others? Choice or control have nothing to do with enjoying civil rights.

Randy then goes on to claim gay marriage will lead to marriage with animals and he implies children, too.

Randy, can you really not come up with any good reasons for opposing beastiality and pedophilia that are unrelated to gay marriage? Your silly argument actually gives credence to these behaviors -- as if there is no reasons left for opposing them once gays begin marrying. I can think of a handful right off the bat. If you can't, you have a problem.

This only shows the arguments against marriage equality are failing and you are resorting to changing the subject to something worse as if they were one and the same. If arguments against gay marriage were strong, you would state them instead. For example, if I asked if you support sex with children, would you say no,because it will lead to sex with dishwashers? No, instead you would list the good reasons for opposing child rape because they are obvious and many. There'd be no need to change the subject.

One further comment: why didn't interracial marriage lead to interspecies marriage?

I've heard the tale of Sodom and Gemmorah. Have you heard of the equal protection clause of the United States Constitution?

The hospitals are wrong to not allow close friends/people to be a comfort for their patients. This is a problem in general--not just to the gay community!

The gay community can have a lawyer set up community property/and rights as protection
and thier needs met for them as a'couple'. Thus, the hospital issue would be solved, and our 'authentic' marriages of one man and one women can stay as is!

Excellent idea! But how about we switch? Instead, you can spend thousands of dollars on legal fees to draw up documents to protect you, and we'll get the marriage license for about $50.

Of course, lawyers couldn't give you all of the benefits of marriage (you couldn't sue for wrongful death, for example, and you wouldn't get your partner's social security benefits, and you could be forced to testify against your spouse).

And, of course, you'd have to carry all those notarized documents with you at all time (unless you know you'll have time to run home after a car accident to grab them and then return to the hospital to visit your loved one before he/she lapses into a coma and/or dies).

And, of course, you'll still not be a family, just legal strangers with some documents, so when your partner dies, you'll have to pay estate taxes on his/her half of your estate. You might have to sell your house to afford it.

Does this still sound like a good idea?

Or, how about we all get the same thing: the ability to marry someone we can love?

The ability to live in a deviant behaviour relationship?--nah--!

The way I understand it, tis quite simple to get 'small' papers written up via lawyers to 'get your needs met'--and leave our authentic marriages alone!
