Who Is Barack Obama?
With the rise of visibility as a presidential candidate, comes the need for the public to look more closely at who these people really are and what they believe.
I believe that is both fair and wise. After all, they are applying for the job of leading the United States of America, the most powerful and blessed nation on the face of the earth.
Mike Huckabee has been grilled by any number of media "elites" as to what he believes. I have personally heard him asked about marriage, homosexuality, the role of a woman, evolution, creationism, abortion and just about every other theological question that they could come up with.
America knows what Huckabee believes.
But what about Obama? Who is he and what does he believe?
And why is the press so careful not to ask? Is it racial sensitivity or political correctness? Or are they simply not interested? Or, perhaps they don't want you to become interested?
Fortunately, there are some who are beginning to ask and look into who this man is and what he is all about.
Is he a lapsed Muslim, a new Christian or some hybrid version of both?
Does he practice racial separatism as his church teaches?
His pastor and spiritual advisor, Rev. Jeremiah Wright, once traveled to Libya with supremacist Louis Farrakhan to meet with Qaddafi, who was then considered a terrorist leader. Just last year Wright honored Farrakhan at a gala in Chicago.
Rev. Wright believes that Israel is a "racist" occupier of Palestinians and described 9/11 attacks as a wake up call to "white" America for ignoring the concerns of "people of color."
Will a "President" Obama's foreign policy reflect any of this belief from a man who married the Obama's and baptized their children?
Barack Obama has made several trips to his ancestral home of Kenya in recent years, where he founded the Senator Barack Obama School. This would seem humanitarian and good, but again one must ask about the bloody massacre that has been happening in that part of Kenya and what his response to that has been. Or more importantly, would be as President.
His late father, a Muslim, was a member of a militant tribe in Western Kenya, where his brother, Abongo "Roy" Obama still lives and is a militant Muslim.
In a bloody conflict there last year, Barack, after traveling to the area, seemed to take the side of the opposition leader Raila Odinga who over saw the massacre of men, women and children. It was reported that as people, including children, ran for sanctuary in an Assemblies of God church in the area they were cut down by machetes. I helped build that and other Protestant churches in that area. I am familiar with the tension.
There is much to know about this man Obama as he rises to power.
While most of the press is avoiding talking about who he is and what he believes, some in the press are in fact looking into it.
The Investor's Business Daily has been asking questions. And getting some answers.I have given you a link to a story they ran back on January 15, 2008.
I strongly recommend that you read it. The importance of this upcoming election cannot be overstated.
The ancient prophet, speaking on behalf of God said, "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge".
We need to know. We need to pray. And we need to act.

Gary,
What is the source for the statement that you are making below? Admittedly, when I read it, it sounds more like partisan slander than genuine journalism. I am not sure what your goal is.
Could you please have the integrity to provide the specific source if you are going to make such an obviously inflammatory comment with such apparent implications? It seems this is basic to the "just" position that you have set yourself up as holding.

Sen. Obama like other candidates is an illusionist. He creates an illusion of what we hope for from our government. He makes campaign promises like others, and like others does not address the cost of his promises. Pie in the sky promises cost money, but you see he gets the young vote like a rock star. Unfortunately the young voter doesn't realize Obama's promises will dig into mommy and daddy's pockets, and it's mommy and daddy who's paying for his/her education. Barack Obama is an excellent orator, and that's about it, but his promises we just can't afford.
Unfortunately the young voter doesn't realize Obama's promises will dig into mommy and daddy's pockets,
As opposed to the Republican's trillions of dollars taken from not only mommy and daddy's pockebooks, but their children's, and their children's children?
Sorry - the Bush Republicans are the spendthrifts, you'll have to try a different tact.
Oshtur,
I beg to differ. Not that much is being taken from mommy and daddy. By far, most of the incredible neocon debt is being passed on to the young voters and to their future children.
please forward this blog to all your friends and family and ask them to do the same. i have. people need to know this. keep up the good work gary and crew.
The following is from Christianity Today interview. The rest is available on line . Barek is a brother In Christ . He is liberal , puts down the religious right , and supports gay rights .
He has more in common with those who are saved In Christ then those of us in politics with OUR conservative beliefs . I don't understand how Christians can support his politics , but obviously they do .
&A: Barack Obama
"I believe in the redemptive death and resurrection of Jesus Christ."
Interview by Sarah Pulliam and Ted
Barack Obama wants to set the record straight. He is not a Muslim, as recent e-mails falsely claim.
The Democratic presidential candidate is fighting the e-mails that have been widely circulated. Obama has been continually speaking about the role of faith in politics since his Call to Renewal address in June 2006.
In the days before the South Carolina primary, he is driving efforts to speaking with media to emphasize his Christian beliefs. His campaign also sent out a recent mailer portraying the candidate with his head bowed in prayer and says that he will be guided by prayer when he is in office.
The senator from Illinois spoke with Sarah Pulliam and Ted Olsen today about his faith, abortion, and the evangelical vote.
What do you think your biggest obstacle will be in reaching evangelicals?
You know, I think that there's been a set of habits of thinking about the interaction between evangelicals and Democrats that we have to change. Democrats haven't shown up. Evangelicals have come to believe often times that Democrats are anti-faith. Part of my job in this campaign, something that I started doing well before this campaign, was to make sure I was showing up and reaching out and sharing my faith experience with people who share that faith. Hopefully we can build some bridges that can allow us to move the country forward.
What would you do in office differently than Hillary Clinton or John Edwards that would appeal to evangelicals?
I have not focused on all of their policies so I don't want to speak about what their positions will be. I know that as president, I want to celebrate the richness and diversity of our faith experience in this country. I think it is important for us to encourage churches and congregations all across the country to involve themselves in rebuilding communities. One of the things I have consistently argued is that we can structure faith-based programs that prove to be successful — like substance abuse or prison ministries — without violating church and state. We should make sure they are rebuilding the lives of people even if they're not members of a particular congregation. That's the kind of involvement that I think many churches are pursuing, including my own. It can make a real difference in the lives of people all across the country.
So would you keep the White House Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives open or restructure it?
You know, what I'd like to do is I'd like to see how it's been operating. One of the things that I think churches have to be mindful of is that if the federal government starts paying the piper, then they get to call the tune. It can, over the long term, be an encroachment on religious freedom. So, I want to see how moneys have been allocated through that office before I make a firm commitment in terms of sustaining practices that may not have worked as well as they should have.
I heard a song on the radio and the words went something like this," I am not afraid of your bible . I am not afraid of you churches or your temples & on & on. What i am afraid of is what you will do in the name of your God."
Thousands died on 911 because some fundamentalist Muslims believed that they were doing God's will.
Thousand of innocent Iraqis have died and been injured and thousands of our soldiers have been injured and killed because Bush believed that he was doing God's will invading Iraq.
Huckabee scares me because I don't know what he thinks
God is telling him to do.
Ralph,
Agreed, when leaders think they are doing God's work, everything is justified, in their view....
You crack me up Ralph . Obama has the same faith as Huckabee.
. Huckabee is not the guy I voted for , but look at his record in Arkansaw . Only the media and folks such as yourself who feed on this stuff are concerned . The folks in Arkansaw had no problem with his faith , and in fact if you look at who suported him , he had a large backing from the African American Community because of his support for the low income policies that the organizations like the NAACP see as supportive to Blacks .
In other words , he is a bit liberal , which is why Romney ws getting so so much support from the die hard conservatives .
Romney shares your faith .
.
Regarding Ostur Vishanti's offbase rant. Apparently democrat followers don't understand basic economics like 'cause and effect'. When there are 'tax cuts' the people have more money to spend at their choosing, i.e. independence; when there are 'tax increases' which the democrats always promote, the money is taken from the people and given directly to the government and the ONLY way you'll get it back is if you are a part of some special interest or supposed 'victim' group making you dependent upon the 'Nanny State'; like welfare, food stamps and housing projects. That is not freedom. From cradle to grave is what the democrats want to do to you and with this comes even higher debt that will be passed upon to future generations. Spending is high from both parties, but the democrats spending makes the republicans look stingy in comparison. Obama has promised the moon which is what it will cost to pay for his endless Socialism; no liberty or freedom there only servitude to Big Brother Government.
BILLION AND BILLLIONS AND BILLIONS of dollars are being spent on Iraq
.
We are getting nothing, ZERO, in return.
Now that is waste to the highest degree!!
Just like when we send food, medicine, and other aid to other countries? Waste in the highest degree? That's essentially what you're saying, and you're right, as long as we remain unconcerned about helping people around the world with things like food, healthcare, and freedom...
On the other hand, what if we spend BILLION AND BILLLIONS AND BILLIONS of dollars in Iraq and someday the Iraqi people taste the freedom that you now take for granted?
Many are tasting death, dismemberment, abject poverty, rape - often at the hands of the US Military or the mercenaries Bush sent over - this is anti-Christ.
Greg
Try and convince an Iraqi mother that has lost a child that her child's death was not caused by the invasion of her country.
No, anonymous, the only thing the GOP is stingy about is paying for their spending. Me I'll take "tax and spend" over the GOP's favored "borrow and spend" any day. But I think leaving a mountain of debt for future generations is a moral issue. I know shocking isn't it? a moral issue that doesn't involve genitalia.
Mike: Hucabee is a deceiver.
claimed he didn't know much about Mormon doctrine .
He is a baptist minister they study the doctrines of the cults ,Morons JWs ,ect, in seminary.
He feigned ignorance when
he had knowledge.

HUCKABEE: MORMONS THINK JESUS, DEVIL ARE BROTHERS
COMMENTS AHEAD OF GOP IOWA DEBATE
AP
December 12, 2007 -- WASHINGTON - Republican presidential hopeful Mike Huckabee, an ordained Southern Baptist minister, asks in an upcoming article, "Don't Mormons believe that Jesus and the devil are brothers?"
The article, to be published in Sunday's New York Times Magazine, says Huckabee asked the question after saying he believes Mormonism is a religion but doesn't know much about it. His rival Mitt Romney, the former Massachusetts governor, is a member of the Mormon church, which is known officially as the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
The authoritative Encyclopedia of Mormonism, published in 1992, does not refer to Jesus and Satan as brothers. It speaks of Jesus as the son of God and of Satan as a fallen angel, which is a Biblical account.
