Is Change Possible?

Thank you to all who attended the Barton events the past two nights. We were all profoundly impacted by the rich spiritual heritage of America. David Barton, without doubt, is America's foremost Christian historian and as those who attended know, he is a supportive friend and ally of Faith and Freedom Foundation and Network.
A special thank you to those who filled the auditorium last night even though the snow was falling outside.
Thank you to Pastor Rich Wood at Life Point Church in Vancouver and Pastor Bill Bowers at Mountain View Church of The Nazarene in Tumwater.
David will be returning to join us in May, as we continue our "Change The State in '08" tour. Be sure to watch for specifics on these upcoming events.

Is Change Possible?
Listening to David Barton's presentation the past two nights caused hundreds of people to express in different ways the same resolve. One, it's refreshing and inspiring to hear and see from original documents, the significant Judeo-Christian influence in the founding of America and the framing of our founding documents.
Secondly, those who attended were affirmed again that America is unique and our heritage is worth preserving for the generations that will follow.
Some around the state would ask, understandably, can we really change Washington State, given the choke hold the secularist, liberal lawmakers and the pro-death, anti-marriage, well-funded organizations have on state politics?
I think we can. Here's why.
There are several reasons.
First, we know that a majority of lawmakers in Olympia consistently vote against traditional, biblical values. They pass laws which negatively effect marriage, family, public education and personal freedoms in regard to the beliefs of people of faith and conservatives.
There is a growing awareness that they do not necessarily represent the views of people across the state. This is why they vigorously oppose issues of this nature going to a vote of the people.
Also keep in mind that these lawmakers have taken control of the legislature by getting a majority of the vote in their district only. We must further keep in mind that many, not all, but many do not even represent the views of their district. They represent the views of those who voted in their district. And therein is a great opportunity to Change The State in '08.
Secondly, while the faith and conservative community has articulated the problem and even some ways to solve the problem, we have not really been able to come together in a sustained way.
It is entirely possible for various groups and organizations to work together while retaining their individual identity. If personal egos can be controlled. We are joining with a variety of organizations and groups to work toward a common goal.
Change or reform always begins with a big idea and a specific plan. And collaboration is always critical. Change is always citizen-centered and those who resist change for the better must be made to carry the burden of their positions.
Jon Russell and I are traveling the state meeting with small groups, presenting a powerpoint presentation of exactly how we can bring about change in the state. People are responding, getting involved and involving others.
I am certain we are on track to see success. Others agree. Some of the major organizations in the state are stepping up to work with us on some or all of the issues and with candidates we are developing. Hundreds are joining the grassroots movement.
If you care, please come along side and work with us on these issues or allow us to work with you on matters that are of mutual concern. If you lead an organization, please contact us to see how we can work together in a mutually beneficial way.
Remember, change begins with you.
God bless you.

gary, this is really great. My kids attended the change your culture rally before Barton spoke last night. They are turned on and are starting a club in their school. Thanks for the report and the pictures. My wife and I really appreciate all you are doing. Keep up the good work. We believe we can make change in our state.God bless all of you.
I'm confused. Gary states that he and Jon have been "traveling the state" to promote their potical agenda to "Change the State in '08", yet the sole expense reported to the PDC by the Faith & Freedom PAC since last summer is $135 for mailbox rental. Seems FFN is either using tax-deductable donations for politcal activities, or they are not accurately reporting thier income and expendetures to the state PDC. Either one of these would be illegal, so one is left wondering just how does Gary account for this discrepency?

me and my friends from school came to the youth concert last night. We really had a good time . We all felt like we were part of something special that will change our culture.
I do not support what your doing, but decided to attend your meeting in Olympia last night. The crowd was impressive but I really think you are misguiding people to think that things can or will change.
Jeff
No need for confusion. These are educational meetings encouraging people to become involved and sharing ways they can become involved. There is no canidate advocacy.
There is no discrepency.
When political activity begins, the PAC will be reporting.
