Gay Times in WA State

As homosexuals lined up today to register as “domestic partners,” the celebratory attitude displayed in the Governor’s office a while back when she signed the bill into law seems to have changed.

Gregoire, with hands in the air, declared the day a victory. The benefits that homosexuals had been denied were now provided – or are they?

It seems the message changed from that day forward and has now become a mantra.

“No,” they say, “we didn’t want faux marriage, we want the real thing.”

Ed Murray is quoted by Rachel La Corte of the Associated Press, “When it comes to gay and lesbian issues, change is coming at the state level." David Ammons, of the AP, says that according to Murray, the gay community isn’t much interested in civil unions as a next step; they are going for full marriage equality. Equal Rights Washington echoes that sentiment. They say an interim step would only serve to detract from the ultimate goal.

There is nothing much that is new in that. That’s what they always say – and they mean it.

I was, however, surprised and disappointed at the comment of one former Christian lobbyist told the AP he thought it “looks like a losing battle.” (Click here to read story).

I agree with him that there is a culture shift but I do not agree that, “The likelihood of a turnaround is very remote.”

If God’s people pray and humble themselves, God promises to heal their land.

This is truly a watershed time in this state. Washington will either join Massachusetts as a leader in homosexual endorsement or we will decide to take a position to uphold and affirm the most important societal building block in human history – the family, built around marriage between one man and one woman.

I personally do not believe this is a losing cause. In fact, Faith & Freedom is holding strategy meetings across the state, confirming at least eight rallies with David Barton to remind people of our God Heritage, holding our first youth leadership retreat this coming November and will be working to remove certain state legislators that we feel are vulnerable in their district.

We are prepared to mount an extensive voter registration campaign leading up to the 2008 elections.

And most importantly, we believe that God will help us. We also believe that thousands of citizens across the state will continue to join in as well.

While we may be experiencing, “gay times” at the moment, it will only last for a season.

I sincerely believe God will honor the prayer and actions of His people in this regard and we will see the tide turn.

Thank you for standing with us.

God bless you.

what's the matter Gary? I figure you must have been hungover and slept late, otherwise why would it take you till noon to rain down your hate on the happy gay and lesbian couples in the state getting domestic partnerships today.

Of course you play the bogus "conspiracy" angle yet again. Just what is the point, Gary? You oppose ANY rights for gays and lesbians, if you had your way it would be illegal to be gay.

Anon 12:21--for your info, the 'gay' community are ALL in a 'sick state'. They are living a sad, diviant state. Period! We who know this, are sick of seeing this sick diviant behaviours being promoted as 'normal', and watching this 'new way of thinking' affecting our precious youth, who already have qualms as to ther 'identities'! ON the other hand, we are ultra concern and our prayers are constantly with them to have an 'awakening' to what this 'movement' really is--a false sense of right--for it is WRONG! 'Love the people, have compassion, but hate the lies they are accepting'! Above all else, the ONLY authentic marriages are between a man and a women--and the 'gay' community MUST stay out of our authentic marriages--they are NOT wanted, nor needed, and they just cause us problems! Get back into the closet--where u 'use to be'~ and then there were not 'as many' as there are today--with the 'hype' of being 'proud of being gay'--there are many more now--SICK! SAD! We DO pray for them--thankfully many do hear the 'call' of our loving God, and get out of this horrible trap of 'gayness' that they were in, and find the inner peace that comes with the release of this 'life style' and LIES!!

Estates, burial rights & hospital visitation is all this new law deals with.

And as a bonus, the $50 couples pay to register will save our legal system a whole bunch of needless court cases (ie: torte reform--conservatives love this) & killed trees (caring for God's creation?).

No news here. It's domestic partner lite.

Gary Randall: “THEY’RE F@#$ING QUEER!!!”
by Will, 07/23/2007, 1:33 PM

Seattle Times:

The state’s new domestic partnership law, which went into effect Sunday, gives gay and lesbian couples some of the rights granted to married couples, including the right to visit a partner in the hospital, inherit a partner’s property without a will and make funeral arrangements.

To qualify, the couples must file an affidavit of domestic partnership with the Secretary of State’s Office. The state then gives them a certificate with a state seal, and plastic cards that say “State registered domestic partnership” and lists their names. On the back it cites the chapter where the law can be viewed.

But not everybody is happy:

Gary Randall, president of the Faith and Freedom Network, a Christian political organization, said last week that his group has no plans to demonstrate today, but that doesn’t mean it approves of the new law.

“I’m disappointed, and I don’t think it should be happening,” said Randall, who considers the law a steppingstone to gay marriage. “I think it deteriorates society. Over time it takes away from what is the most important cornerstone of society, and that’s marriage between a man and woman.”

Notice how Gary doesn’t approve of the law, but he isn’t sending in the anti-gay shock troops just yet. You see, normal people (even many conservatives!) think that there is nothing overtly weird about a person visiting a loved one in the hospital, even if they are both of the same sex. Gary knows he’s on the wrong side of public opinion, so he’s doing his best to tie domestic partnerships to something not as popular: gay marriage. He knows fighting this law is a loser for his side, so he’s keeping his powder dry.

So Gary is reduced to getting the second quote in newspaper articles like this one. In the future, I hope for his sake that he can manage a less limp-dicked response than “I don’t think it should be happening.”

On a similar note, comedian Louis CK has a bit in his act where he explains how the gay marriage was argued in court in Massachusetts:

I can imagine when they get to the Supreme Court and the lawyers for the gay side say:

“Well your honor, we pay taxes, there’s nothing illegal about what we do, we’re the same as anyone else, why shouldn’t we get the same protection under the law as the heterosexuals get?”

And then they ask the lawyers [for the other side] and they say:

[Thick Boston accent] “THEY’RE F(&&ING QUEER!!! THEY’RE F@#%ING QUEER!!!”

So basically, Gary Randall’s response is “they’re f^&%ing queer!” And that’s all he’s got.

***THERE’S MORE***

You can watch the Louis C.K. clip here.

Also, according to HA’s Lee:

Gary Randall was also pissed that a Hindu was allowed to give a prayer in front of Congress. The man is loco.

Yea those gays are going to ruin marriage for everyone. Just like interracial marriages ruined it before. Only white anglo saxon protestants should ever have access to the rights that marriage provides. That would really heal our "sick land" and fix all those disfunctional families. Promoting understanding and equality will only make things worse.

I am pretty sure gay people don't really want to be in your marriage. I would guess your not their type.

to anon 1:48,

Yes, indeed these are the "end times"! Because we are so close, God may well be letting the sinning grow and fill the cup of iniquity to the brim! He said in Romans, that God gave them over to their ways! That is a very freightening statement for those who have given themselves over to do what they know they should not do! Especially is mentioned sexual immorality. Look even over in Revelation 2:20, "By her teaching she misleads my servants into sexual immorality and the eating of food sacrificed to idols."

The best thing we can do is pray! Ask God to open their hearts and eyes and ears to hear the truth that they might live. We are called not to put on a big fight against homosexuality; but to share the Gospel of Jesus. By so doing we are seeking God's will for the times we are in and by giving people the warning about what will happen if they continue that behavior (since that is the topic of this message). We have fulfilled what we were told to do when Jesus left this earth to go be with the Father.

Their future will be in their own hands. If we do not warn them, then we may very well be held accountable for their ignorance.

What I am observing is the tactics that the gay activists are taking as well as many people of the proclivity, is to ignore the warnings and only see what they want to see: only biased research that says it is ok; laws that force heterosexuals to conform; ignoring truth of information of the cause; inflicting the acceptance on children!

It is like talking to a brick wall to try to educate them.

Yes, the goals keep escalating until they can achieve the ultimate goal of marriage approval! Then, then will come the distruction of marriage as we know it! Which means families will be vastly different too!

By going to God instead of making a big fuss from the human standpoint puts God in control, which he is; but, we can let God direct rather than we direct. That is walking by faith!!!

We know who the adversary is behind this practice. That is why we need to go to God! Just as the Archangle, Michael in the dispute about Moses' body, deferred to God instead of taking the decision on himself!

If an Archangel understands to defer to the Father, shouldn't we do the same??

Pam, Sen Roach, shouldn't you really spend more time worrying about your drug dealing son's return to the criminal justice system, rather than concerning yourself with what other citizens are up to in their bedrooms? Just think if you'd bothered to do so 20 years ago maybe you and yours wouldn't have a closer than average aquaintence with the court system.

When our nation struggled with the evil of slavery religious leaders (many of whom later broke off to form the Southern Baptists) railed against the end of a biblically approved institution and warned of God's coming wrath for the change. When women were fighting for the right to vote the conservative religious leaders decried how this would bring on God's wrath for repudiating the bible's commands for women to be subservient. When Racial minorties fought for the right to be equal before the law the conservative 'christians' fought them every step of the way, as they did the ending of bans on cross-racial marriages and the removal of homosexuality from the criminal rolls. It's against God they said.

And now all they have left to fill the coffers of their temples is demonizing gay and lesbian families, using the same, tired old rhetoric they have always used before. You have chosen the path of hate at every turn and at every turn you have lost.

If only more 'Christians' could look at the example Jesus set for them instead of giving into their own prejudices. The reason all these movements have succeeded is they had God on their side, because they were on the side of justice and love. Just as we do now in the current struggle for equality under civil marriage law.

Yup things are sooo bad right now. I mean loving couples are getting recognition. Thats sooo much worse then slavery, crusades, witch trials, holocaust, etc.

In almost every measure people today are more ethical then ever before. Unless of course you think that gay rights are somehow worse then institutionalized slavery.

Either get your god's regulations straight or shut up. If you really believe in Christianity, you will forbid women from leaving their houses during menstruation, sell your children into slavery, and throw everyone in jail who wears a shirt made out of a cotton/nylon mix (the prohibition against mixing fabrics). Then, come back and apply the other obscure Biblical versus that can be construed to prohibit same-sex relations.

That would imply that they started with the Bible and derived their policy positions from there. It is perfectly clear that these folks start with the bigotry/prjudice and then work back from their to find a biblical justification.

Their faith is in the service of their politics, not the other way around.

"institutionalized slavery". That is exactly what we have in today's job market!!! But, many people participate every day, some gripe, but most just go along with the program.

Oh, regarding people being more ethical today than before!!! WHAT? Where have you been living lately??

to "other john",

your blindness shows when you still compare the civil rights and women's movements as the same as the gay rights movement as the same! THEY ARE NOT THE SAME, FOLKS! If you understood the elements involved in each, you would understand they are different! DO NOT put them in the same category!! If you cannot grasp this, then, you are truly blind.

Today's job market resembles "instituionalized slavery"? Maybe if you are without skills, education, experience and talent, but for the rest of us it's never been LESS like institutionalized slavery. With unemployment in this state at record lows (4%), employers are practically bending over backwards these days to attract and retain employees of value.

It continually amazes me that homosexuals "want" marriage. They throw out what God has said "For this reason a MAN shall leave his FATHER and MOTHER and shall cleave to his WIFE and the two shall become one," yet want his institution? Why? To make themselves feel better when in their heart of hearts they know their lifestyle is sinful?

Please someone explain that. Or is it that they just want to get rid of the institution of family because there are actually well adjusted individuals in this world as a result of strong families?

From the rest of your note its pretty obvious your lack of understanding is because you are only talking about the religious rite of marriage.

Marriage is a natural state, biologically derived as reflected in our history of recognizing 'common law' marriages that exist without ceremony or contract. And yes, people marry those of the same and opposite gender. What's wanted is license to the totally secular state contract in support of their existing marriage just like other married couples.

If you want to limit those who can participate in your religious rite of marriage have at it. The mormons don't marry interracial couples, the catholics don't marry divorced people. Nuns all marry the same dead guy. I saw a woman marry a bush in a pagan ritual once. Its your religion, its your rite, its your choice. Just has nothing to do with the 'marriage' actually under discussion.

And obviously having more people license the contract in support of their families won't get 'rid' of families it will make more of them.

OK, so they got that with the "domestic partnership" deal. Why are they pushing for marriage, which is a God-inspired "religious" institution, as old as beliefs of the Creator, because it was stated by God in the very beginning (Genesis)?

Domestic partnerships do not grant ALL the rights. privledges and benefits of civil marraige, which has nothing to do with any religious institution.

He still offers his life-ring for any individual who will grasp it. There are too many holes in the hull of this grand ship, America!

History shows that no nation has a long history except as God has any nation in his plans. Israel, for all the attempts by others to destroy her, is still viable and God has plans for her yet! America has listed too far to the left to be righted!

Grab the life-ring while there is still time!
