CHANGE THE STATE IN '08 (You must read this).
The press is calling the next presidential election the “money” election.
Money can get you a long way, but it can’t get you all the way.
There is another factor in the upcoming elections and we feel it will have more effect than the millions of dollars that Giuliani, McCain, Romney, Clinton, Obama, Edwards, and a list of others are raising.
It is the “faith” factor. And it’s not just me. It’s people like the Barna Group who are saying that their research data indicates that “faith” or “values” voters will cast half of all votes in the 2008 Presidential election.
But what about Washington State?
For more than 14 years WERG, which was merged with Faith & Freedom in 2005, has been faithfully lobbying in Olympia. And make no mistake, we will continue, because it is very valuable for the entire faith community. We are deeply committed to this part of our ministry. But as Abraham Lincoln said as he faced the Civil War, “Our case is new, we must think and act anew.”
And so we must again think and act anew.
During the past couple of years we have had some victories in Washington State, namely the Supreme Courts decision to uphold the definition of marriage as between one man and one woman. Many have said the Elway poll we released in January of 2006 made an impact on the Court. If so, we are gratified to have been used in that way.
There have been a few bills passed, defeated (or killed) so far this session, that was favorable to the faith community, but there is a march toward a very different state and country than that which we have known.
I think we all know that, for the most part, those that oppose the biblical worldview have been and are passing bills in Olympia. These bills are intended to incrementally lead to gay marriage, an extreme and secular curriculum in sex-ed and other subjects in public education, an erosion of many of our freedoms of religious expression (example: HB 2661) and a complete secularization of our state and our country under the guise of a misrepresentation of a letter Thomas Jefferson wrote to the Danbury Baptists, assuring them that the government would not interfere with their free expression and the activities of the church.
The misinterpretation of this letter has, overtime, been turned upside down and used as a license to secularize America.
While there are many good, decent, honest legislators who hold and vote traditional values, they are not in the majority. Thus, it is nearly impossible for them to pass laws that reflect those views – your views.
During the current session, as in years before, people of faith have made calls, written letters and emails, and strongly urged legislators to consider their views. And that must continue, but the majority of our state legislators either does not agree or simply feels that a secularist, liberal view is what gets them elected. There are hundreds of thousands of you across Washington who holds values that are related to your Christian faith. I know that most of you, but not all, are Republican.
Faith & Freedom is launching a campaign entitled, “CHANGE THE STATE IN ’08.” The essence is about principle not party. We must elect people of principle and values. We see this as a spiritual matter, not a political mission.
We feel we have a simple plan that can be profoundly significant in the next 20 months leading up to the 2008 elections.
Please read our document carefully and prayerfully. Download it, and circulate it among your friends and family who feel as you do. Then let’s CHANGE THE STATE IN ’08.

Gary,
I know of precious few, who "oppose a biblical worldview", there are however many who do not hold a biblical worldview (a right that the Constitution guarantees them), and oppose structuring the laws of our state around said worldview. The fact that you would characterize this as opposing a biblical worldview tells us all we need to know about your honesty & integrity, or lack thereof.

Would you please contact us at Faith and Freedom. You may do so through the personal email to the organization.
Gary would like to make contact with you
Thank you
So it seems that the protestations of FFN Staff that they never, ever post anonymously are in fact, less than true. How typical of this dishonest organization.
Gary,
I am a "values voter" holding a "Biblical worldview" and I will be talking to my legislators about how many have come in the name of Jesus but in fact are simply wolves in sheeps clothing and need to be cast out.
Wolves are defined as religionists who do not care one fig about honesty and integrity but are focused on political domination and will use whatever ends to achieve it in their arrogant, self-righteous, fleshly behavior.
I have provided a multitude of issues that demonstrate that the current administration beginning with Bush himself that show a total lack of integrity; therefore, a total rejection of a "Biblical worldview". It is my hope that genuine values voters who hold a Biblical worldview will quickly condemn the Bush Administration for their on-going evil, corruption and violence.
Oddly enough, even the Mormons have enough integrity to condem Dick Cheney for all of his dishonesty and incompetence. Maybe FNF can catch up to their level of integrity and do the same??? What do you think??
Sincerely,
In Christ,
Human
A specific (one of a million) instances of lies from George Bush:
Did White House Privately Back House GOPers' Trip To Syria While Bashing Pelosi?
April 03, 2007 -- 07:39 PM EST
Let's see if all the big news outlets who lavished so much coverage on the White House's attack on Nancy Pelosi for her trip to Syria have any time for this.
It's well known by now that even as the White House was slamming Pelosi for her Syria trip GOP House members were making their own trip to Syria. This has drawn lots of attention already.
But check this out: It now looks like the White House might have actually been helping these House Republicans arrange their trip to Syria at the same time they were criticizing Pelosi for going there! Who's the source of this allegation? The chief of staff to one of the GOP Congressmen who went to Syria, that's who!
Take a look at this story from Pennsylvania's Lancaster Intelligencer Journal:
While U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's upcoming visit to Syria has caused the White Houe to bristle, a little-publicized rendezvous took place Sunday between Syria's president and Lancaster County's congressman.
And though Bush administration officials have been criticizing Pelosi, it's not clear what role the White House and the U.S. Department of State played when U.S. Rep. Joe Pitts and two other Republican congressmen met with Syrian President Bassar Assad.
Pitts is a Chester County Republican who represents Lancaster County.
Gabe Neville, Pitts' chief of staff, said Monday the conference between Assad and the three Republicans was intended to be "low profile."
"It was done in cooperation with the administration," he said.
Maybe I'm missing something, but the chief of staff to this Republican Congressman who went to Syria stated unequivocally that this trip was "done in cooperation with the administration." That would be the very same administration that has spent days and days attacking Pelosi for doing the same thing -- attacks that the big news orgs have eagerly spent a great deal of time and resources amplifying.
It's unclear what this GOP chief of staff's description of "cooperation" between these members of Congress and the administration means in practice. It could end up amounting to nothing at all. But it's certainly worthy of follow-up questions, wouldn't you agree?
We'll be pursuing it tomorrow.
Mick,
I posted the following at the end of the previous blog. I see this is what you were referring to in your posts before you deleted them. If you read this here, that is fine but it is in response to your comments.
I appreciate you reaching out to me. I have reached out to you in the past. I accept your hand of peace.
The only condition to walk with me as I walk in Christ is integrity. But I will extend my peace to you regardless.
I do not believe I have offended you in anyway though I have been offended by you several times and I appreciate and accept your apology and repentance and thank our Father for dealing with you - as He has dealt with me in response to a couple of your former reproofs. However, if I have behaved inappropriately toward you, please point it out and I will come before the Lord for repentance.
I sense that your deepest heart is toward the Lord and I am willing to meet you in this regard.
Peace,
In Him
Human
Mick,
Regarding God's call in my life and the word He has given me to speak - please do not be quick to judge what it is - you may be surprised. I am open to the Lord to speak or not to speak - it is His word and His name alone that I care about. No man of God has come to please the relgious leadership of the day -
Needless to say, your earnest prayers for me and the word the Lord would have me to speak are eagerly sought.
Peace,
In Him who is our Savior,
Human
Human, please give the Bush-hating thing a rest; it's eroding your soul. Thrashing in the jaws of spite and self-righteous indignation can't be a whole lot of fun. Friendly advice: abandon the computer, go wash someone's feet at church tonight, and appreciate the beauty of humility and service to others. None of us is suffering so much that we can't drain away our frustration refill ourselves up with the gift of the Cross. I continue my prayers for you.
Mimi,
Sadly, it is apparent that your mind has become utterly corrupted the by Right Wing - which is exactly the spirit and evil I warn those who love Jesus Christ about.
I simply printed an article that showed George Bush lying - instead of attacking the lying George Bush for his evil, you attack me the simple messagner of truth.
Yikes!! You have fallen a long ways down...
Father, I ask for Mimi that your hand would gently draw her back to your Son, to submission to your Son and to seeing the difference between good and evil. Also, let her see who those evil men are who are pouring such deception into her mind that LYING is now okay - as long as you call yourself a "christian".
Thank you Father for your love and safekeeping of our souls - purify our souls that we might manifest your glory in your Son Jesus.
Amen.
This is silly. It is easy to see that every post on here except the one from Mimi (and this one) are posted by Human aka Vishanti.
Mimi--ignore the poor confused soul calling himself Human. The rest of us do. Mimi those were lovely words you posted. Only a depraved mind would respond in such a silly way.
Hi Mimi,
Glad to see you still are so ready to be there to build us up and direct us to better ways .
You have a kind heart .
Human you provied an editorial . That was someones truth . I included a rebutal to that "opinion" with another "opinion" , better written actually , factual correct , and yes an opinion .
If I was to call you a liar , evil and such because you did not accept this view I believe you would offended .. Rightly so my friend .
.
I rather just say , Human , I think you wrong again .
Recent Editorial By Thomas Sowell
Congressman Tom Lantos, who is a member of the delegation that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is leading to Syria, put the mission clearly when he said: "We have an alternative Democratic foreign policy."
Democrats can have any foreign policy they want -- if and when they are elected to the White House.
U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, right, is welcomed by Lebanese Prime Minister Fuad Saniora, left, upon her arrival at the Lebanese government house in Beirut, Lebanon, on Monday April 2, 2007. U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi met with Lebanese officials Monday on a stop in Beirut as part of a fact-finding trip to the Middle East that has drawn criticism from the White House because it includes a visit to neighboring Syria. Pelosi's visit to Lebanon comes amid sharp political divisions in the country between the government and the opposition. (Until Nancy Pelosi came along, it was understood by all that we had only one president at a time and -- like him or not -- he alone had the Constitutional authority to speak for this country to foreign nations, especially in wartime.
All that Pelosi's trip can accomplish is to advertise American disunity to a terrorist-sponsoring nation in the Middle East while we are in a war there. That in turn can only embolden the Syrians to exploit the lack of unified resolve in Washington by stepping up their efforts to destabilize Iraq and the Middle East in general.
Members of the opposition party, whichever party that might be at a given time, knew that their role was not to intervene abroad themselves to undermine this country's foreign policy, however much they might criticize it at home.
During the Second World War, the defeated Republican presidential candidate, Wendell Wilkie, even acted as President Roosevelt's personal envoy to British Prime Minister Churchill.
He understood that we were all in this together, however we might disagree among ourselves about the best course to follow.
Today, Nancy Pelosi and the Congressional Democrats are stepping in to carry out their own foreign policy and even their own military policy on troop deployment -- all the while denying that they are intruding on the president's authority.
Mimi,
please give the liberal-hating, and Human-bashing thing a rest; it's eroding your soul. Thrashing in the jaws of spite and self-righteous indignation can't be a whole lot of fun. One thing we can do at the grass roots level is to start printing FFN things to hand out, and newsletters of real information.
So much of what the "average" joe, who does not peruse the internet for a variety of news sources, only gets mainstream media. Some think only Romney, McCain, and Guiliani are running for president (other than Hil and 'Bama) because that is all the press is talking about. Seriously think about an underground press that is not underground. We need to counter the mainstream press. The Christian radio stations are doing a good job, but not everyone listens to them.
So consider it. Print articles. Hand them to family and friends who don't seem clued in to what is really going on. We need to get a network established this year if we are going to effect change next year.
From the end of FFN's politcal manifesto:
"Your Help Needed!
If you agree with the action we are taking, please support us financially.
Your financial support is essential as we move forward. In fact, without your support, this could not happen.
Your gift to Faith & Freedom Foundation is tax deductible. To make an online donation to Faith & Freedom … click here.
To mail a tax-deductible gift to Faith & Freedom, send it to:
Faith & Freedom Foundation
P.O. Box 399
Bellevue, WA 98009"
Note that donations to Political Action Committies, which is what this entire manifesto is about, are NOT tax deductable. FFN is once again dishonestly mixing their 501(c)3 and 501(c)4 entities.
Human stop it. Your conspiracy theories and witch hunt are silly and depraved.
Your post at 5:15 and 5:10 are wasting everyone's time. It is easy to spot you.
Mick, what who is the author of the book you are reading "B of S"?
Thank you.
Human, Please read Matthew 7:1-2 Do not judge so that you will not be judged. For in the way you judge, you will be judged; and by your standard of measure, it will be measured to you.
That is quite direct and clear. I am just wondering with all of your judgements of people and this website if you know Gary or anyone else related to this site? I would guess not. How can you call someone that you personally don't know, not credible. I read that from you and others daily.
If you don't believe in the credibility of someone why would you continue to read the blogs here? Just curious.
You had better seriously consider what the Bible says about judging because it is a dangerous occupation.
John Bevere ,
It does hit you between the eyes , Basically trusting in God . This is so hard for me considering how self sufficient I am . ;0) But I am doing my best to let the Lord take over .
About time !
5:24, you are a paranoid idiot.
I wrote 5:10 and 5:15.
I've been posting here off and on anonymously since some Christianist jackass decided to try impersonating me, and Mick, Mimi and the rest of the FFN supporter gang, didn't offer so much as a word of reproach.
Well sorry JC , To be honest I did not think you even considered my support was comsidered welcomed or close to important .
I did not know about someone taking your identiy .

Not that I am an expert on politcs .But I have been involved in so many loosing politcal campaigns, a few winners too , people in the Republican party look up to me as wise and experienced man here in Kitsap . If they were winning campaigns I would be smart and a leader . I heard Gary on I believe it was Thor's show on 820 AM . Politically I would have to say I agreed with every thing he said .
Anom Have you ever considered joining say the Republican Party ?
You can be pro life , pro Constitution , pro getting the government out of your hair . They allow Christians in Kitsap too .
Not that religious views are not important , and we live in a plural politcal system where all all are welcome to particpate .
But I guess having Jesus Christ at trying to get a seat at the table of political discourse bothers me somewhat . The Lord owns the the whole table , we do not need to get him a seat .
I support getting involved , even registering to vote at churches , inviting speakers ands such . But using Jesus Christ as the focal point in a political organization .. I don't know ..
.
I put out a political grassroots Citizen Alert . Other concerned citizens who go to School Board meetings , Commissioner meetings , Land Zoning or whatever send me their notes and I put it out . Its cool comparing it to the local media .. Especially what some elected folks say , and for some reason gets left out of the media reporting . Then the people put it on their lists who subxribe to me . . Its all local stuff , I like to say non political , but I am defintelly pushing conservative slant on issues . And I am a local Republican PCO .
"5:24, you are a paranoid idiot."
Real classy JC. I would be concerned if people thought I was so similar to Human aka Vishanti.
Your style is exactly why they do.
JC,
Happy to see you back.
I would appreciate meeting you sometime. I know there are a few who have surrended to Christ and not bowed their knee to the right wing Baalim.
Sincerely,
In Christ,
Human
JC is just another name that Human posts under. JC dropped off when Human had to begin posting as Vishanti again because people began noticing they were never on at the same time--because they are the same person.
It is the same foul mouth, same style, same seething foaming at the mouth, maladjusted person.
A crackpot can't hide its cracks.
It is people like you who give gays a bad name.
Right, anon and your paranoid insistence that everyone and anyone, who disagrees with FFN in comments is actually human, is such a shining example of class for us all.
"It is the same foul mouth, same style, same seething foaming at the mouth, maladjusted person."
What a perfect description of Mick/art/fredrick and yourself anon.
Your absurd claims only highlight your ignorance, there have been time when all three of us have been posting, and I've had disagreements with both Human and Vishanti, but I'm sure that to our enfeebled, paranoid mind, that is just further proof that we are the same person.
You are a floor-flushing idiot. If that statement offends you, tough nuts, it's a simple statement of fact.
JC,
With all due respect, I don't respond to demonic spirits. I made some brief effort and then simply realized that I was casting pearls before swine. Not worth the effort.
Best
Human
Well, Human, you do whatever you wish. Personally, I chose not to dehumanize those I dsagree with by using terms such as "demonic spirit". You see just because we both disagree with FFN doesn't mean I agree with, or support you.
Its getting to feel more and more like Christmas around here all the time .
Oh, please no, Mick, I thought I had months and months before I had to go through that whole phoney "War on Christmass" charade again. Sure makes me long for the days when "Merry Christmass" was a friendly greeting, not a hostile challange.
JC ,
It was the song . Not even thinking of that .
Ya know the song ,
"Its starting to feel alot like Christmas in everything I see ".
Or something like that , I guess it was before your time . I was just being silly because of the harsh comments going around .
JC is just another name that Human posts under. JC dropped off when Human had to begin posting as Vishanti again because people began noticing they were never on at the same time--because they are the same person.
Anyone have any clue as to why 'insane' guy thinks everyone who disagrees with him is the same person? Either side of the usual debates - I mean JC, Human, and I all have different topics of interest, different writing styles and more tellingly make different spelling and syntax errors (I have a a tendency to substitute homophones (ironically) and leave off "-n't" endings of words (which totally changes their meaning - thanks for all who just fill in the blanks))
And then there's the long notes both human and I have occasionally left a minute apart. ;)
What psychological benefit does this person get from this misperception (assuming its not just a deliberate lie which would make him far worse than the people he attacks and so very much not 'promoting Judeo-Christian values'.
"You are a floor-flushing idiot. "
Classy JC. Educated people know better than to speak in such a low-class way.
Actually JC, I am extremely intelligent and highly educated. Your opinion speaks volumes about you.

No JC, there have been some very nice and charming people on here who do not agree with FFN. Fortunately for them, they have the ability to communicate and get along with others. The problem is not people who disagree with FFN.
Once again, we see the truth in Romans 1:28. "Furthurmore, since they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, he gave them over to a depraved mind, to do what ought not to be done. They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips, slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful....."
Anyone remember the topic that this blog started on ?
My defense of JC is simply this - there has been so much lying and evil wrought be self-rightous, Evangelical Religious Right wing, that it is very anger provoking to those who genuinely follow Christ.
I understand his anger - though I agree that there may be a higher way to express it.
anon @6:22 (MR. Courage), spews:
"No JC, there have been some very nice and charming people on here who do not agree with FFN. Fortunately for them, they have the ability to communicate and get along with others. The problem is not people who disagree with FFN"
I'm calling your bluff, name one. Cite for us a single example of a poster, who disagrees with FFN, who you haven't attacked personally and claimed is really Human.
I just stumbled upon this blog and was surprised by the anger and blame thrown around here. I know you must be good people because of who you associate with. I have met Mick Sheldon a few times and have found him to be a very intelligent and clear thinker A man who most certainly has a good grasp on reality and understands the people around him. (Hi Mick)
With that said I hope you don’t mind if I throw in my two cents to your friends. I agree that there has been a lot of horrible things done in the name of Jesus but that does not mean that it was done with the blessings of Jesus. These things are usually done on the pretense of being “not that kind of Christian“.
( If they were good Christians or real Christians they would do this, or they would never do that.)
We all make mistakes and although we might disagree with someone’s perception of right or wrong, you can be certain of one thing. We never get closer to heaven by belittling, embarrassing, condemning or cutting down Christians or any other person not of our exact cloth. It seems the more bodies we pile up to stand on, the further away Heaven to gets.
Hey Randy, Welcome aboard . Right about condemning and belittling others . When I do that to someone it has never gotten anything constructive done .
Hope you stick around .
Mick
Randy,
Welcome also.
I agree with Mick re: condemning and belittling. I believe some of us including Mick and OV have made a pact not to do so - good example those two.
I would be interested in your take on Gary's blog re: the ACLU - comparing his description with the actual letter.
Yours,
In Christ,
Human

TONY BABCOCK!!!!!!
I'm sorry, Tony Who? He posts here when?
So Tony - that which is done in the darkness is now shouted aloud on the roof top -
Why don't you be a man and tell us which church you attend and we will go and chat with your Pastor about all your lies - and your mother as well.
ok 3:33 post makes no sense.
I remember Tony. He posts his email address which contains his name. He shows up now and again.
He is well mannered and respectful. And definitly pro-gay marriage.
3:33 highlights the innate bigotry of FFN supporters, assuming that EVERYONE goes to a church.
406 ,
How about the bigotry that assumes all FFN supporters go to church ?
Who has made such an assumption? I certianly haven't.
Some anomymous guy stated it , you have to figure everyone includes FNN supporters .
