Owens Says Legislature is Behind the Times

Every time we talk about “Judicial Activism” there are those who object, scoff and generally try to dispute that it actually happens.

If one follows the rulings, as we do, it becomes apparent that there are a number of judges with a personal agenda, intent on advancing their agenda from the bench.

Even more telling than their rulings sometimes, is their words.

Look at this. Susan Owens in her own words to the Yakima Herald: “The Legislature [Washington, we presume] is really behind the times socially.”

We have already had two opportunities in the primary to replace two such Supreme Court Justices, but were unable to get the more than 50% vote.

Now, in this general election, there is one more opportunity.

Steven Johnson has stated that he believes a judge should “interpret” the law, not try to write the law.

Susan Owens has consistently voted in ways that show, without question, that she is interested in re-writing and re-visiting the law. Now, we know why. It’s because, the Legislature, which you elected, are socially out of touch and disconnected to where the secular progressives want to take our country.

There is no question that there are two very distinct and different views regarding the future of our country and our communities.

The real question is, are we going to engage in the process by voting in this general election?

Isn't this the same Judge Susan Owens who was a no-show at a recent debate because one of her opponents was a blogger? And she said she doesn't do blogs?

Correction: I'm sorry, it was one of the moderators, not the opponent that is a blogger.

Susan Owens was a no show and is one of the most under qualified Justices on the Supreme Court.

Yeah I did not vote for her , but it looks like she will win .

Do you realize how many people on the government payroll get bombarded with advertsiments demonizing one view and supporting another .

I work for the state and in a Union . The junk election mail I get is 5 to one for candidates that support bigger government .

Remember the gas tax , for transportation , I have received one raise this year , will get a retro from years ago , and receive raises once a year for three more .Plus my vacation time was added to , ata rate no one gets in the private sector .. Small raises , I guess you can overdue ... But its because a democrat is in office . My thinking is that the folks who paid for that tax , and still are , counting the working poor , thought it was all going for roads . Well I and thousands of other employees may be part of the transportation system , but my getting a raise will not getyou to work quicker , and voting for Owens will make sure the government stays strong my friend , you can bet your tax dollar on it .

What the Johnson-Owens race reminds me of is the cheat home run in the 1996 baseball playoffs. Then-12-year-old New York Yankees fan Jeffrey Maier broke the rules of the game by reaching over Oriole outfielder Tony Tarasco's glove, caught the ball, and pulled it into the stands. It was declared a home run rather than fan interference. This decided the game and helped decide the series. The point is, everyone knew this was cheating, yet New York treated Maier as a hero. He was praised on radio and newspapers, and he might even have had a parade in his "honor". There as here, people know Owens is going outside her authorized role to shape public policy, and are voting for her not despite her violation of the rules but precisely because she violates the rules.

If you're an Owens/Democrat fan, don't gloat just yet about beating God's followers: YOU might be the God-follower. I can't rule out that, like in the Old Testament, God let His people get conquered and led by corrupt kings, in order to give His people a full-tilt view of what life is like when God is left out of it. So it's possible that the reason the anti-God forces won this 2006 election is... God. Think about it. Think twice about dismissing the God Who makes things happen, esp when He makes seemingly-good things happen for you. If there is a God, ie if you just saw God's hand at work, you need to at least seriously consider the need to accomodate this God in your life, to plan your life around Him the way you do with gravity. You'll find He is gracious to those who don't actively refuse Him.

K-Y
