WA Supreme Court Says Gay Marriage Ruling Imminent
It is clear that the Washington Supreme Court is beginning to feel the heat. Faith & Freedom has been calling for the justices to release their ruling for some time. We have suggested that they may be holding back for political reasons. Ironically, Gov. Gregoire agrees with us. Let’s hope that they find the clarity and courage to release their ruling soon.
Keep in mind there are two highly qualified candidates running for seats on the Washington Supreme Court. Faith & Freedom will be distributing a Voters Guide specifically addressing the judicial races within the next couple of weeks. It will be available on our website.
The Associated Press released the following article yesterday.

From the article...
State Supreme Court Justice Susan Owens said Wednesday she believes the court's long-awaited ruling on the constitutionality of the state's gay marriage ban will be issued before this September's primary, contrary to speculation that the justices would hold off because of the topic's sensitivity.
"We have never held cases. I resent when people say that," Owens told The Associated Press following a forum for Supreme Court candidates. "It's not going to be very long. We're at the point now where I can say that."
So you are saying she is lying. If you can't prove that, wouldn't it be considered libel?
Just more Christianist innuendo and spin. Most likely the judges have decided it is against the state constitution to have unequal access to the marriage contract since if the majority though it wasn't unconstitutional the decision would have come out long ago.
The problem is there is probably more than a 2 way split on just how this inequity should be remedied and none of the solutions is supported by a majority of the judges. So they keep passing proposals and briefs back and forth hoping to change someone's mind.
Yes the idea that they are holding back on the decision for political reasons is both gossip and mean spirited. If this is Christian 'teaching by example' what does that say about the quality of Christianity practiced here?
Hello Vishanti,
We haven't heard from you in a while. Are you alright?
We may never know the answer to this question, but I can't help but ask it, "Do you think the movement that is organizing across the country to take back our courts had any influence on the Justices of the Washington State Supreme Court when they found excellent reasons to uphold DOMA?"
Survival and keeping a job you love are serious motivators when Justices make their decisions on issues that stir up very passionate emotions in the lives of their constituents.
Hopefully, in the future there will be only two kinds of Justices. The first kind of Justices does not legislate from the bench. The second kind are retired Justices who are no longer serving because their voters replaced them.
"Yes the idea that they are holding back on the decision for political reasons is both gossip and mean spirited. If this is Christian 'teaching by example' what does that say about the quality of Christianity practiced here?"
This, in my opinion, is a mean spiritted insinuation. Either that, or you're so naive that you truly believe that something like this would NEVER be done for political reasons. You know both sides of the political spectrum would not be above this, so cut the "better than thou" crap.
